Reasons to bid

A. Lange & Söhne is one of the few brands that can offer not one but two versions of the annual calendar complication, one self-winding, the other hand-wound, such as the caliber L051.3 of this 1815 Annual Calendar Ref. 238.026E. Its harmonious design is defined by a classic round white gold case and a silver-plated dial with an orthogonal arrangement of sub-dials typical of the traditional 19th century pocket watches that inspired A. Lange & Söhne to design the 1815 collection. The sapphire caseback of this 1815 Annual Calendar reveals the caliber L051.3, a smaller reproduction of the Glashütte pocket caliber that adorns A. Lange & Söhne’s magnificent historic pocket watches. In this context, an imposing three-quarter plate made of German silver with Glashütte stripes, gold chatons attached with blued screws, a hand-engraved balance cock, a screwed balance, a ratchet wheel with solarization and a swan-neck index adjuster are just the most important features worth mentioning.
