Reasons to bid

The ‘222’ watch comes from a special collection by Vacheron Constantin in honor of the company’s 222nd anniversary. The collection was launched in 1977 and is the most serious competitor to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus, both of which were introduced in the 1970s. These two designs are considered pioneers of the genre of sporty, elegant luxury watches in stainless steel, and Vacheron Constantin has created its own vision of this design with the ‘222’. Slim case, ultra-thin Vacheron Constantin automatic caliber 1121 based on the Jaeger LeCoultre 920 movement-blank, magnificent integral bracelet with hexagonal center links and, to add even more character, a gold Maltese cross pressed into the case at 5 o’clock – this is a true Vacheron Constantin masterpiece that is quite rare compared to its competitors.
