Reasons to Bid

This Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Platinum Number Two Tourbillon Ref. 270.6.48 in platinum, produced in 2003 in a limited edition of 500 pieces, is a very beautiful and rare rectangular and reversible platinum wristwatch with a tourbillon visible on the back of the swivel case. The caliber 848 of this watch has the characteristic shape of the tourbillon bridge, which was inspired by the bridge of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s historic caliber 170 pocket watch. It was the brand’s first tourbillon, developed in 1946 for use in observatory chronometers, while this Reverso Platinum Number Two is only the second Reverso watch to feature a tourbillon. The combination of the rare Reverso case in platinum, whose design was developed in 1931, with the rare execution of the mainplate and bridges in 18k white gold, undoubtedly contributes to the appeal of this watch.
