Reasons to Bid

This highly decorated and skeletonized miniature pocket watch with enamel decoration is unusually signed “Les Cabinotiers Genève” on the vertical rehaut of the dial and features an astonishing combination of skeletonized and hand-engraved movement (Jaeger-leCoultre ebauche) and a gold case, also engraved with a floral motif and covered with green and brown translucent enamel. Connoisseurs of independent watchmaking will be delighted by this watch, which was produced in 1978 by the Geneva-based Les Cabinotiers group, which included independent watchmakers and now legendary figures such as Svend Andersen, Roger Dubuis and craftsmen: Ferrier Gilbert and others. It is one of the earliest examples of the trend towards independent watchmaking that has spread widely since the late 1990s.
