FAQ
What are the advantages of working with Ineichen Zurich?

We have been successfully holding watch auctions since 1973 and working hard on the quality of our service, watch descriptions and catalogues, which allows best returns on each sale.

It is in our interest to sell your collection at the highest price possible since we profit from the buyer’s commission on the hammer price.

Our managers are working closely with sellers to make sure that the process is transparent at every stage.

How long does the full cycle sale take?

If you are focused on the fast results, we will do our best to place most of the lots from your collection in the nearest auctions possible, which may take from 2 to 6 months. If we run a special auction exclusively for your watches, the process will take at least 3 months.

What is the price of the service? Is it commission based?

Catalogue creation and estimation is charged as a separate service in case the sale is not implied. The price varies depending on the number of items and their rarity and condition.

Otherwise, the evaluation is included in the price, and commission varies depending on the item, based on its value and rarity as per the following model:

CHF 50 000 > Net Hammer Commission = 20%
CHF 50 000  =< Net Hammer  =< CHF 150 000 Commission = 15%
Net Hammer > CHF 150 000 Commission = 10%
How long does the estimation and catalogue creation take?

Depending on the number of items it can take from several weeks to a couple of months.

Who will be responsible for my collection management?

Our team of photographers, experts and sellers led by a personal manager will work on your collection.

How do I know that my collection was estimated fairly?

We stand for each price that we set for a lot. Our estimations are based on the real data and expertise that we are ready to support with documentation and explanation at any point required.

Where and to whom will my collection be sold?

We would focus to place as many items as possible in the auctions for the sake of increasing both your and our profits from the sale. However, we may as well attract direct buyers from our client base and other available resources.

Is it possible to sell my collection as a whole?

Yes, however each item will still be evaluated and commissioned separately, and private sales would be recommended via a public auction.

Can I keep my collection in your office for maintenance?

For final estimation and preservation all the items will be carefully stored in our office to guarantee the unchanged condition until sale.

We introduce the most transparent commission model:
