Reasons to Bid

The Andersen Genève World Time 'Christophorus Columbus 1492-1992' commemorates the quincentenary of Christopher Columbus’s historic Atlantic voyage, an era of global discovery. First released in 1992, this limited-edition model (500 pieces total with 300 in yellow gold) embodies the spirit of world-time innovation and independent watchmaking. Cased in 18k yellow gold with a diameter of 35mm, the watch presents a stepped bezel and twin-crown construction. The dial center features a striking blue and gold map of the Atlantic region, with continents in gold and a fine line marking Columbus’s trans-Oceanic route, encircled by a 24-hour day/night ring and an external city disc listing major world time-zones. Underneath the dial beats an automatic movement based on the Caliber Piguet 951, decorated and signed by Andersen Genève.
