Lot Essay

This working prototype preceded the launch of the Konstantin Chaykin x Behrens Ace of Hearts collection, unveiled in the summer of 2025 to celebrate three years of successful collaboration between Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin and the Chinese haute horlogerie brand BEHRENS. The limited-edition Ace of Hearts is both an emotional and technically sophisticated interpretation of the Wristmon concept. «Ace of Hearts» underscores the model’s connection to the legendary 2017 Joker, the first of its kind with an anthropomorphic dial.

The design also references Chinese culture of the Eastern Han dynasty era, specifically the figure of the smiling “Storyteller Potter beating a drum.” The model features an asymmetrical case made of deep blue SPSCF carbon composite. Its skeletonized design makes the ingenious “smile” even more striking. Inside its mouth accentuated by a vibrant red outline moves a heart-shaped seconds hand, while the “eyes” indicate hours and minutes, and the power reserve of the manufacturer's calibre is shown at 12 o’clock.
